Supported Financial Institutions Quickbooks: Pro 2006 For Mac

Thanks for the info. But I must say that it looks like QB is forcing an upgrade. My bank allows downloads from back to QB 2004. If my bank is allowing it, then why shouldn't QB? Pretty lousy business practices, if you ask me. This makes me very angry.

I understand them not being able to support older versions, but for them to take away something that is working perfectly, so they can sqeeze an extra buck out of their loyal customers is highly irregular, unprofessional and down-right mean. I think I am going to search out another company to service my clients with.MS Accounting perhaps, or Microsoft Money. The QFX and QFO file formats are simply XML-ish text files.

If QuickBooks is having trouble recognizing the institution, I found it wasn't too hard to gently help it. Naturally, you should do this at your own risk. I only tested for my situation - where I knew I trusted the data and all I was doing was importing.

There could, of course, be undocumented downstream implications. I just updated the section to be a valid institution. Of course this data will be incorrect.

But for Importing, that doesn't appear to be material. This worked fine and I was able to use all of the QuickBooks web connect import functionality I paid for - I am happy again and plan to keep using QuickBooks instead of switching to another vendor. Here's an example of valid information. (Again, it will be incorrect. But it worked fine in my case.). Having the same problem with Quickbooks Pro 2009.

Error message: 'Quickbooks is unable to verify the Financial Institution information for this download. Please try again later.' I have spent a long time on hold with quickbooks support and they have been unable to help me. I have tried 3 different ways of importing this data into Quickbooks: 1.

Direct connection to the Financial Institution (in this case President's Choice Mastercard) where I am opening the.qbo file directly from internet explorer. It is recognized as a Quickbooks file, so quickbooks takes over and appears to read the file with a connection window, but results in the error message above. Downloading the.qbo file to my desktop and importing manually using FileUtilitiesImportWeb Connect Files. This does the same 'tease' as above, but same error message.

Double clicking on the.qbo file on the desktop which automatically invokes the import into quickbooks, again with same 'tease' and resulting error. Also, I tried reformatting the.qbo file and changing the information as broberson suggested, but that didn't do anything.

It could be that certain regions for Quickbooks are allowed to use certain codes and since I don't have the same version of quickbooks as broberson, it won't work. Since my version is Pro 2009, I shouldn't have any issues importing this in.

I am thinking that it could be an issue with Presidents Choice Mastercard, but I have called them and they don't seem to be having anyone else with these issues. Ultimately, I have had to spend money on a 3rd party QIF to IIF converter (Big Red Consulting) which imports the QIF file, formats it in Excel, and then exports it to an IIF file which then imports into Quicken. The problem is the extra work involved in doing this, and the extra cost. I would like to be able to stay native to Quickbooks and get this issue resolved! I paid good money for this software, and I shouldn't have to rely on expensive and time consuming workarounds! Has anyone else figured out how to solve this problem?

Can someone send me their information for a Canadian Credit Card company so I can test the FID, ORG in my.qbo file? Broberson - Please explain further how to edit the file as I am unable to get around this error.

I've searched high and low for a solution to this problem but am unable to get any further. Below is the top section of my downloaded.qbo file before any transactions, this was opened in notepad and can be edited here to correct the file to add an accepted bank into the code. Thanks for any help in advance. Having the same problem with Quickbooks Pro 2009. Has anyone else figured out how to solve this problem?

Same problem here. And as far as updating, why would anyone buy a QBs update if they wont make this online downloading more convenient. Eg wont import anything but QBO files into the check register, wont convert CVS (or any other files) to QBO for check register, and now cant even enter a QBO download file because 'Quickbooks is unable to verify the Financial Institution information for this download.

Please try again later.' How much later, next year(?), its ridiculous! Hope someone here can find an answer.
